Here’s some tips for booking the perfect Big Reveal time:

These sessions are held at our Mt Waverley studio.
Choose a time when both parents can attend. As much as we love kids, it’s a good idea not to bring them. This is not a rule, just a very very good suggestion, based both in our experience as photographers but also as parents who’ve attempted to choose photos of our own children while they got increasingly bored and restless! There’s more info on this in the Frequently Asked Questions below if you’re unsure.
Take some pictures of the walls of your home beforehand with your phone and we can use them to make your design and ordering decisions especially easy.
The Big Reveal is your ordering session. All orders must be placed and paid for at The Big Reveal, although payment plans are available for larger orders.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, and the best news is that they’re interest-free.

We’ve partnered with a Melbourne-based, Australian-owned company called Payright, to offer easy payment plans. Here’s how it works:

Payments can be spread out over 3, 6 or 12 months
You can choose monthly or fortnightly payments
There is a small fee for the service, which usually works out to around $10/month, and that’s it!
There are no interest charges and no fees for paying out the plan early
Once you’ve paid a minimum deposit of 10% and your plan has been approved, we start producing your beautiful wall art immediately, so you can have them up on your walls as soon as possible
Applications usually take 5-10 minutes, and all you need is a drivers license and a credit card

What happens after the session?

Short answer – the fun bit happens!

Within a few days of your session we can have everything ready to catch up with you for a Big Reveal of your pictures. We’ll go through them all together via Zoom (yes, you can do it all on your couch in your pyjamas!), choose your favourites and design beautiful things for your home.

We’ve invested in some great design software which will help to make this process easy for you.

It’s a good idea to choose a time when all adults can be there. As much as we love kids, they will get a bit bored while we’re fussing over designs together, so we recommend choosing a time when you don’t have the kids with you, or when babysitters are available. To make this easier we have evening appointment times available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well as during normal office hours.

How much will our prints cost?

There is a huge range to choose from and we’ve hand-selected the best suppliers to ensure that your prints will last a lifetime.

Our most popular products are our framed wall collections, which start at $1590 (or $34/week) for a set of three framed prints, canvases or timber panels. Individual wall prints start at $590 ($15/week), finished and ready to hang. The prices for all of our finishes (classic frames, glassless frames, canvas or timber) are all the same.

How many of those you choose is entirely up to you. We promise two things:

that we’ll do our best in the portrait session to take so many great photos that choosing between them is difficult (sorry!)
that we’ll genuinely help you in the Big Reveal to make great choices, with no hard-sell or regrets.

How “photoshopped” will the pictures be?

We’re quite flexible on this, but it should ultimately be your choice not ours. We’ll edit the pictures for colour, contrast, sharpness and brightness before you see them, but after that the level of any editing is entirely up to you.

The images we capture are really about moments and relationships rather than the textureless skin and contorted bodies that fashion magazines use photoshop so famously for. Our editors can perform almost any edit at your request, and in almost all cases this service can be included in your order for free.

Our personal preference is that the images are kept as natural as possible, and we’ll guide you through this at your Big Reveal.

Who should attend the “Big Reveal”?

It’s a good idea for any adult who wants a say in the choice of images, the edits or the amount you spend to be there so that you can make all of these decisions as a team. We understand that this can be difficult sometimes, so if you need some scheduling help to make it possible to both be there please call us on 03 8812 7829

We also recommend that kids don’t attend the Big Reveal if possible. We love kids, and as parents ourselves we know that it can sometimes be difficult to exclude them from things, but kids do get bored and restless during Big Reveal meetings, and I’m sure you know how distracting they become when that happens! The good news is that we meet over Zoom, so if you have little kids who go to bed early we can possibly meet after bedtime, or if you have bigger kids we recommend that adults have a zoom call with us in one room while the kids watch a movie in the lounge. You’ll find that your photo selections will be much faster, easier and you’ll also be able to surprise them when you bring the prints home later on.

You’re also welcome to dial in from multiple locations, or to invite parents and/or siblings to do the same if they want some prints for their homes too. Just let us know beforehand so we can make sure we have enough time for everybody in that time slot.

How long does a “Big Reveal” meeting last?

Approximately 1 to 2.5 hours, depending upon what we’re designing and how many people attend.

Sorry, that’s a big vague isn’t it. The truth is that products such as albums can take a little longer to design and some families just have more questions or need a little extra help and advice, so we don’t want to rush you. It’s also worth allowing extra time if there are several people placing separate orders (e.g., Grandma, Big Sis and yourself).

This is one of the big reasons why we recommend not bringing kids to a Big Reveal. They’ll usually be perfectly happy while we’re all looking at a slideshow of the pictures, but will quickly get very bored when we all start getting excited about little design decisions.
