An overwater bungalow in the Maldives would have to be one of the most beautiful locations in the world. It was here that James asked Rosie to be his wife.
He hid the engagement ring in his glasses case in a secret pocket in his backpack, terrified for the whole journey that Rosie would discover it.
They had just arrived in their bungalow when James suggested they open a bottle of champagne. He offered to take a photo of Rosie on the balcony daybed, looking out at the stunning view of the ocean.
“Then I heard my name and turned around and I wish I had a picture of him, James was juggling our big camera on one knee and the ring but still trying to take a photo of my reaction as well!”
Even though they had been together for six years, Rosie still admits it was a massive surprise.
Normally, James is normally terrible at waiting for anything, so he joked to Rosie, she’s lucky he didn’t propose at the seedy airport hotel in Sri Lanka on the way!
