The funniest thing about Shae and Davina’s proposal is that they both secretly planned to propose on the same day!
They had both taken the day off work and each decided to plan an adventure for their anniversary. Davina’s part of the day was to take Shae to a waterfall, but the lack of recent rain meant it was fairly disappointing so Davina decided to wait to pop the question.
They headed back to Melbourne to check into their favourite hotel and start Shae’s surprise – ice skating at the Winter Village at Federation Square.
Skating together under the fairy lights, there was a moment with no one else around so Davina pretended to fall over and then while she was one on knee, she pulled out the ring to propose. Then Shae pulled out her ring as well!
“It was like we had a little bubble around us, it was just us. And then everyone else caught onto what was going on.”
