Will’s original idea was to pop the question to Danae during an upcoming holiday to Japan but he got too impatient, and decided he couldn’t wait the six months until the trip.
So he planned a day-trip to Sky High at Mount Dandenong. They went up early and had breakfast before walking around the beautiful grounds.
They emerged from a maze to discover a wishing well. Trying to be romantic, Will produced two coins and said, let’s make a wish each. But Danae was having no part of it.
Danae said she didn’t need to make a wish and she already had everything she needed and it was a waste of money! And she promptly walked off.
Unperturbed, Will threw a coin in the wishing well anyway and followed Danae to a wooden bridge in the Secret Garden.
“He then started talking about our future and I was so confused. I turned around and he was down on one knee with a ring asking me to marry him.”
