When she was a little girl Brydie never dreamt about a big wedding day or even getting married at all… despite her name! Truth be told, she never thought about any of that until the day Mark walked into the physio clinic where she was working on reception: “I knew then, at that exact moment that I had met my future husband but I had no idea of the extraordinary impact that day would have on my life…. From the day I met Mark, my heart just exploded with love for him.”
The spark between them steadily grew but it took six Friday night physio appointments (some he definitely didn’t need) for Brydie to pluck up the courage to give Mark her number. He called on the Sunday, they went to dinner on the Tuesday and now nearly seven years later they are married. Brydie’s intuition was right, she had found her husband!
There is just a huge amount of love between this gorgeous pair, rivalled only by the bond between Mark and Brydie’s dad and brothers and also his beloved West Coast Eagles. The day was filled with so many magical moments it’s hard to pick a favourite. There was Brydie’s absolutely incredible wedding gown, the box of love letters Mark created to be opened over the next 50 years or when Brydie revealed her end-of-ceremony secret: a row of guests standing up on their chairs to sing and perform ‘All You Need is Love’ as per the famous scene in Love Actually.
After the beautiful ceremony at St Dominic’s Church we headed into the city for some photos at Fitzroy Gardens and the Victorian Army Barracks. Driving the cars back to their reception at Zinc at Federation Square proved a traffic nightmare, but these guys were not perturbed. They simply jumped out of the car at the lights and the entire bridal party made their way on foot straight through a busy French Food festival.
There was just a few minutes to regroup before one of the most creative bridal party entrances we’ve even seen and some impressive moves on the dance floor – these guys know how to party! But as always, it was the speeches that really made the night. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house once Brydie was done: “Mark, you have loved me so much and so fiercely that I have learnt to love myself and see value in me; I am the most me when I am with you. There is no greater gift that anyone can be given than self-worth, and I have this now because of you.”
Brydie and Mark – it was an absolute honour getting to know you and your family and friends and capture your special day. It’s so obvious to all that you guys adore each other and are a perfect match.
