We’ve been home a couple of weeks now, but I wanted to share some photos from our recent family holiday to Hamilton Island. Once upon a time, Iain and I were proud backpackers and used to love nothing better than sitting around a hostel common room trading war stories of food poisoning due to dodgy prawns, Bolivian hospitals or the time we stayed in a beach front hut for just a few dollars. But priorities change and while we’d still love to take the kids overseas, Hamilton Island seemed a much easier option for a quick one-week break with our close friends.
Apart from a day trip to stunning Whitehaven beach, we really didn’t do much apart from swim in the pools, hang out in our villa and drink cocktails – it was a tough life! In our kids’ eyes, anywhere that has a playground, box of pink lego and golf buggies to cruise around on was a massive hit :)
