Quick quiz…. what do Blues Brothers, Star Trek, Rockabilly, Hawaiian shirts, a succulent nursery and a beer hall all have in common? Answer, they all featured heavily at Kat and Tim’s wedding!

After having to postpone their nuptials for two years thanks to Covid, there was no way Kat and Tim weren’t going to plan their wedding exactly the way they wanted. It made for a day full of personality and fun, and lots of happy tears – the only downside to spectacular makeup, as Kat discovered!

From the moment we arrived to see the girls getting ready with their spectacular hair, makeup and vintage dresses; to arriving at the First Look location to see the boys strutting their stuff in suits and sunglasses in front of a 1974 Dodge Monaco sedan – we knew it was going to be a great day!

Kat and Tim chose Roraima Gardens in Lara as the spot for their First Look and on-location photo shoot, as it’s a place they have spent many hours happily wandering around and inevitably buying up big at the attached nursery. Specialising in unusual, exotic and architectural plants, the gardens are a treasure trove of stunning spots and winding walkways. We had a lot of fun strolling through the gardens with Kat and Tim, marvelling at the plethora of unique photo spots.

After some photos with the bridal party, we headed to the super cute Cobbin Chapel to make their love official with a Star Trek themed ceremony. Full of Trekkie references, with the celebrant and Kat’s dad in full uniform, there was also a lot of love and emotion in the personal vows, like this from Tim:

“You are my best friend and I love you so much. No matter what lies ahead, we will face it together.”

Then it was onto the White Rabbit Barrel Hall at Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong for a the reception. Kat and Tim avoided the usual formalities and traditions, instead choosing a laid back, pub-style celebration set among the beer barrels and open top fermenters.
