I really love Mondays. It’s the day that I take a look at all of the shots from the weekend’s wedding and start picking out favourites with fresh, rested eyes after stepping away from the images for 24 hours to spend some time with my family. So today, sitting at the computer pouring over Katherine and Mark’s pictures and re-living their day, I’m grinning like an idiot. I’ll admit that part of the reason for my idiot-grin is that I’m really proud of what I’m about to share, but mostly I’m smiling because I’m looking at two people in love.
Katherine’s face really tells the story of the wedding better than I could in words, like the “just breathe” moment with her father Ian before they walked down the aisle together.
It rained for days before the wedding and it’s been raining since, but somehow the skies were kind to Katherine and Mark and they were able to be married beside the lake in the gorgeous gardens at Rippon Lea Estate. It held off for some pictures around the grounds too and Katherine, Natalie and Megan put in an amazing effort to brave the cold in their stunning-but-not-very-warm gowns. When I lay down on the wet tiles/puddles around the pool, I realised that it was actually much colder than the very-tough bridal party had let on!
So, here is a little taste of a beautiful day. I’m really looking forward to meeting up with Katherine and Mark after their honeymoon to incorporate these into their album.
(Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention one thing. Coolest dress ever – it’s got pockets!)
