When we first met with Kat and Niels, it was immediately obvious how important their families were to both of them. Kat talked about her grandmother like a sister, Niels was excited about his family flying in for the wedding and both were already smiling about the idea of sharing great food, wine and dancing with them all. So it was no surprise on the wedding day to open the door at Kat’s parents’ house and find that hours before their Malvern Town Hall wedding, the party had already started at home!
Katrina and Niels’ celebration was a marriage of cultures, and somehow they managed to find a Greek Orthodox priest who could also speak (and sing!) in German too. After the traditional ceremony at St Anargiri Greek Orthodox Church in Oakleigh we headed to Malvern Gardens with the bridal party before some shots in the eaves of the Stonnington Historical Centre.
One of the highlights of the day for us was seeing Katrina’s face melt as she read a letter Niels had written for her. We didn’t ask what was in it, but you can see how many “husband-points” he earned in the photos below!
With the high pitched powder blue ceiling, grand stage, large dance floor and delicious food provided by Sardellis Catering Concepts, the Malvern Town Hall was the perfect venue for an epic celebration.
Thanks Kat and Niels for involving us in your special day. We hope you enjoy your photos and the love, commitment, joy and happiness you showed on your wedding day carries through the rest of your lives.
