Liza and Michael are the first to admit their love was more of a slow burn than an immediate attraction…. as Michael is the brother of Liza’s best friend, they have known each other for more than 30 years!
It took a night at Michael’s place a few years ago for them to realise their long friendship based on talking, music, television and lots of laughs was something more. Since that night, they have barely spent a day apart.
“We have always enjoyed each other’s company and made each other laugh … Liza has totally enriched my life, and here I am today marrying this beautiful girl; I love her.”
Liza and Michael chose the stunning Harman Wines near Inverloch to get married, overlooking the vineyards and rolling hills. Flanked by her children Flynn and Leila, Liza walked down the aisle to her beaming groom.
“I always felt happy and content after spending time with Michael and never felt I had anything to prove or needed to be anyone other than myself … I know he loves me, not some other version of me, and that makes me feel safe and secure.”
It was a special day for Iain and I too, as we first met Liza, Flynn and Leila nine years ago during a family portrait session (and a follow up session last year). In the past decade we have had the pleasure of photographing many couples and families in Liza’s friendship group, so it was super special for us to catch up with guests at the wedding!
Once Liza and Michael made their love official, we wandered around the property for some photos. These guys simply adore each other and sure know how to make each other laugh!
“I didn’t think I was ever going to have a wedding, but not long ago I met Michael in a different light and honestly, you couldn’t wish for a better partner… he is my rock and is the most amazing person.”
Liza and Michael – we were so happy to come out of “wedding photography retirement” for your special day – thanks so much for including us. You have such an incredible love story – can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.
