Natasha and Andrew first met at Monash Uni when Andrew volunteered for a neuroscience experiment that Tash was running. They didn’t actually speak, but Andrew sure remembered her beautiful hair and “the most rich, eloquent voice”.

They met properly a year later through another experiment and started to meet up around uni, carpooling to friends’ events and became close friends. But they didn’t start dating for another six years!

It hasn’t been the easiest road, with the bulk of their relationship spent geographically apart due to their medical studies and work, but both agree there’s a magic when they are together. Andrew says Natasha has a natural warmth that brightens conversations and the room:

“Natasha is the most sweet and good person I’ve ever met. She shows a depth of caring for everyone she meets that I’ve never seen before. She is kind, funny, much cleverer than me and sees qualities in me that I didn’t believe existed. She makes me want to be a better person, to live up to what she sees.”

And Natasha loves Andrew’s quirky sense of humour and the fact he’s the only person to like her cooking:

“Andrew is truly a sweet and sensitive soul. He cares deeply about people (especially his family, friends and patients) and it shows in his actions. Andrew is exceptionally intelligent and hardworking, yet humble enough to say that he thinks I’m the smartest, sweetest person!”

And so a decade after that first encounter, in front of their closest family and friends, Andrew and Natasha were married at St Brigid’s church in Mordialloc. While ominous dark clouds and thunder threatened us all afternoon, the weather was kind (if a little humid) for our photos at Mordialloc beach and Fitzroy Gardens.

Then we headed to San Remo Ballroom for their reception – fittingly the venue where Andrew’s paternal grandparents first laid eyes on each other back in the 1940s. More than 70 years later, there was the same love in the air as guests from India, Botwana, New Zealand and all over Australia celebrated together – and made very good use of the huge dance floor!

Tash and Andrew – you both obviously love each other so deeply and seem to us to be the perfect match. Thanks again for the privilege of sharing your special day.
