There’s two things at weddings that get me reaching for the tissues every time: personalised wedding vows and a great bridal waltz, and Paige and James had both. Our lovebirds first met at a 10 pin bowling tournament when James was actually due to be set up with Paige’s cousin (and bridesmaid) Sammy. Who would have known that a few years later James would propose to Paige with his mother Carolyn’s ring, which fit perfectly.
In their purple-themed wedding officiated by celebrant Pam Nelson at Trentham Estate Winery James promised to keep making Paige cups of tea and let her steal the blankets, while she promised to let him play WOW until the end of time (and for those who know what WOW is, that’s a big promise).
But it was their two canine ring bearers Sasha and Rhino who almost stole the show with their adorable cuteness and obedience in carrying the rings down the aisle safely – full marks to Paige’s braveness, some brides don’t even trust the best man with the rings!
There was no sign of the soaring temperatures Mildura is known for, but you wouldn’t know it from the smiles on Paige and James’ faces as we took some photos on the grounds of the Estate. It wasn’t until we were interrupted by a houseboat of onesie-clad guys who insisted on being in a photo, that we decided to call it a day and head back to the warmth of the marquee and get the party really started. Big thanks to the Trentham staff for the constant stream of trays of canapés and coffees during the shoot – it was much appreciated by all.
Best wishes Paige, James, Sasha and Rhino for a long and happy life together!
