It’s a rare occasion that we get to photograph a couple on their wedding day without the pressure and distraction of a ceremony or bridal party members. It’s the reason we love engagement sessions so much – our couples can just be themselves and celebrate their feelings for each other.
Rachana and Keerthi were first introduced through their families over skype. After just a month, both of them knew the relationship was going to work and Keerthi jumped on a plane to visit Rachana in India. From there it was just a few short months and several visits back and forth, before they decided to “make this formal”.
With families in both southern India and Melbourne, Rachana and Keerthi effectively held two weddings – a ceremony and celebration in India back in December, and then a second reception at Merrimu Receptions for their Melbourne-based families.
I don’t know about them, but our favourite moment of the day was during a shoot in Fitzroy Gardens when Keerthi asked Rachana to close her eyes. The next thing she knew; Keerthi was reading a carefully written love letter to her (from his phone) – such a sweet moment!
Rachana and Keerthi – best of luck guys for a wonderful life together. We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we did capturing them.
