Saturday was a day of firsts for me; I’d never photographed a couple with a horse, attended a wedding at Palise Receptions in Riddells Creek, or heard a groomsman say “You never know, they might be pregnant already” in his speech! He was joking … I’m pretty sure :)
Renee and David were married in St Brigid’s in Gisborne; a small church with a long, proud history. After a drive around Gisborne and Riddells Creek in some a-little-bit-awesome cars (sorry, I really have no idea about cars, and can only tell you if they’re awesome or not awesome), they joined the reception in a marquee on the lawns of Renee’s parents property. The whole family had clearly put a lot of effort into preparing the property to do Renee proud, and it looked fantastic. Watching the guests drink cold beers in the shade I have to admit to being a little jealous – it looked like the perfect way to spend a summer evening.
Oh, and I can’t forget the horse. Old Tally has been sick for quite a while, so in his own way he had also made a big effort for Renee and David’s wedding, and he was an absolute star in the photo shoot.
I’m really pleased to say that Renee and David got the day that they deserved. Enjoy the photos, and the rest will be ready soon!
