There’s no doubt that having kids changes your outlook on everything and for Iain, it means at every wedding he looks at the father of the bride in an entirely new light and Sarah and Phillip’s last weekend was no exception. The moment Sarah’s dad Paul saw his daughter all dressed up, both were in tears – happy or sad ones, we’re not sure, but at least now we know why!
Sarah and Phillip are obviously BFF’s as their celebrant described them during their ceremony in the spectacular vineyard chapel at Immerse Winery in the Yarra Valley. There were many laughs during the ceremony, especially when Sarah put the ring on the wrong hand! But she made up for it with her unique vow to Phillip which included: “I promise that a soccer game means the world stops for 90 mins. But most importantly I promise to always be the same. I will always be the same Sarah you know and love.”
Sarah and Phillip decided not to have a bridal party, but instead invited 12 of their closest friends to come along for our photo shoot around the gorgeous property grounds. Iain discovered early on that Phillip was perhaps the most ticklish person we have ever met and used to our full advantage :)
Once the sun set it was time to head inside for the reception where free flowing rakija (a lethal brandy for those not in the know) and Macedonian dancing meant the dance floor was quickly in full swing. I’m sure there might have been a few sore heads in the morning!
Sarah and Phillip – thanks so much for being such a fun couple and including us in your special day. And Phillip, make sure you follow the advice of Sarah’s grade two students on how to be a good husband: “do all the chores and carry Ms Rainford to the car and be good to the baby”!
