Whoever said that Japanese were a reserved bunch, obviously never met Takae and her family. We haven’t seen as many tears at a ceremony since our own wedding seven years ago. And as for the dance floor, it’s safe to say the language barriers between the Japanese, Sri Lankan and English speaking guests were definitely broken down after a few drinks!
Takae and Chulan are such a lovely couple and their sweet, caring nature shone through at their beautiful wedding at the stunning Butleigh Wootton in Kew. Their reception venue was especially fitting, as it’s just down the road from Swinburne University, where Takae and Chulan first met during a chance meeting in the library back in May 2008, followed by an epic conversation in the university café the following day.
With this in mind, the bridal party (who all also went to Swinburne) headed back to uni to reminisce and take some photos back where it all began before returning to Butleigh Wootton for a ceremony officiated by David Schneider.
Hope you enjoy your photos Takae and Chulan. Here’s to a life filled with the love, emotion and kindness shown on your wedding day. Kampai!
(Thanks also to Eddie from Always Classic Cars for looking after Takae and Chulan throughout the day)
