There are going to be a LOT of pictures in this post. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
On Saturday, Whitney and David were married at Cliff Top on Phillip Island, literally within sight of Whitney’s childhood home.
Driving up to the venue in the morning, it looked like the plans for a ceremony out on the lawns were going to be washed out by some threatening dark clouds, but instead we got the best of both worlds. Regular readers of this blog will know how much I love photographing in the light that comes immediately after a storm, and somehow on Saturday we got exactly that, and paid for it with just a few tiny spits of rain after the ceremony. Wendy McRae led a ceremony that really captured the fun, easy-going personalities of Whitney and David, with a perfect mix of laughter and sweet, poignant moments as we all had a look back together at the story that led to their wedding day.
The storm clouds were gathering and getting a bit black by the time the ceremony finished, so heading down to the beach for photos was definately a gamble. Whitney decided it was a risk she was willing to take, and it paid off as the clouds parted right on cue.
There are a lot more pictures to come (particularly from the reception), but here are a small selection of my favourites from the day. Enjoy.
