Both dentists at the time, Rosa and Michael realised they had a lot in common when they first met at a mutual friend’s wedding, although Rosa initially struggled to understand Michael’s kiwi accent. Their first date very nearly didn’t happen thanks to a misunderstanding over the meaning of “this Saturday” but Rosa forgave Michael and the rest is history.
Ok Michael, I’ll stop picking on you now … sorry!
It was only a few months after Rosa moved into his Docklands apartment, that Michael knew this was the girl that he wanted to marry. And as Rosa said her wedding speech, the feeling is mutual:
For their first look photos, we found an undercover area in the Docklands a short stroll from their apartment. Big thanks to the bridal party who were happy to shelter under umbrellas to give the couple a special moment together. We then moved onto photos at the Intercontinental Hotel where Rosa and Michael had booked their bridal night – a great idea, which meant we could do all the photos inside where it was warm and dry.
It wasn’t until the ceremony at Our Lady of Victories church in Camberwell that the torrential, sideways rain started and had everyone running for cover. The rain didn’t let up all afternoon and night which meant most guests arrived at the reception at Quat Quatta a little soggy – but nothing a drink and some dance moves couldn’t fix!
Rosa and Michael – thanks for including us in your wedding day, it was definitely one to remember for more reasons than one! We totally agree with groomsman Anthony: “There is no doubt in my mind that you will have a monumental future together.”
